Making Learning Computer Science Fun

Paul Curzon, Professor of Computer Science at Queen Mary University of London delivers our exciting opening keynote of the festival.

Learning is much easier when it is fun. One very natural way to make learning computing fun is to use unplugged techniques such as games, puzzles, role play and magic. We will demonstrate some fun activities as well as explaining how to ensure unplugged and other activities give solid understanding of concepts by using semantic waves to unpack and repack knowledge.
