I’ve been a Computing teacher since 2005. During this time, as an experienced Head of Department I was one of the pilot CAS Master Teachers and worked with BCS and DfE developing the 2014 Computing national curriculum. My background includes a degree in Computer Science, freelance contracting for Lloyds TSB and 6 years at GCHQ. I wrote my first computer program in primary school!

Dave Hillyard

CEO & Founder

I’ve been a Computing teacher since 1997. During this time, as an experienced Head of Department I was the subject leader for initial teacher training at Gloucestershire University. I have been an Assistant Headteacher, Chair of Governors and Vice Chair of a multi-academy trust. My background includes a degree in Computer Science and an analyst programmer in the aviation sector. By the age of 10 I had written my first computer game!

Mark Plowman

Technical Director

I’ve been in the IT industry for over 20 years in various sectors, from family-run businesses through to the NHS and software houses. I have a degree in aquatic biology from Aberystwyth University, but as it turned out, I was better at coding algorithms than exploring the lifecycles of various aquatic fauna.

Craig was my daughter’s computing teacher when he approached me to ask if I was interested in a little free-lance project – saying yes was one of my better decisions!

I’ve been with Craig‘n’Dave since the very beginning. In fact, they came up with the idea for Craig‘n’Dave while sat in Paddington station on their way back from a course in London. I had the first mock up of the website done before they had even arrived back home! I’m very much involved with the logistics side of the business. Craig and Dave have the ideas, and I make them happen!

Andy

Business Manager

I first joined the company in 2019 as a freelance contractor. What began as a little admin support quickly became a full-time job, and here I am now as the Business Manager.

My main duties include oversight of the customer experience and front-line support, as well as our CRM and finance systems. I have a background in professional writing, graphic design and audio production, so I'm often helping to put a little extra polish on our resources before we release them to our teachers.

Junior Software Engineer

I joined Craig'n'Dave in 2023 as a graduate developer fresh out of university. I work on Smart Revise every day gradually getting through the backlog of ideas that have been suggested to us from teachers and students. The chances are if you have liked a new feature in Smart Revise over the past few years, I helped develop it!

Robyn

Administration Assistant

I joined Craig ‘n’ Dave in 2023 as an Admin Assistant, working with Andy on all thing’s customer service. From orders to phone calls and customer queries, I’m here to help make everything run smoothly, you’ll even find me sometimes helping with the YouTube videos. Nothing happens without me and Andy knowing about it and if we can’t help, we’ll make sure to find someone who can.

Dave Morgan

Yes, there is another Dave at Craig'n'Dave, a second Dave, also known as "younger Dave" and "The Lesson Hacker". It's confusing having two Dave's but can you have too many Dave's?! I work in my spare time creating weekly videos so that the Craig'n'Dave channel stays fresh. I also work for Mindjoy.

We have an ever-expanding team of freelance content creators who work with us. These include experienced teachers, authors and examiners. They help us make sure we can get quality content out to you as fast as possible while still making sure it's up the standard you have come to expect from Craig'n'Dave. Not everyone can become a content creator, it's invitation only!
