“As an animator, I use software to make simple animations from vector graphics. This involves designing characters and scenes in a scalable format, and then animating them to create engaging and smooth motion graphics. My goal is to bring ideas to life through clean and efficient animations.”
Key Question
All the activities in this unit enable students to answer the key question:
How do we use different animation techniques to bring ideas to life through movement and storytelling?
Knowledge statements
This is achieved by students studying 4 “Learn-it” lessons, each of which focus on one knowledge statement:
- Know how to use animation software such as Adobe Animate, OpenToonz & Synfig Studio to create simple animations from existing vector graphics.
- Know how to create stop-frame animation with a number of static images.
- Know how to create animations with key frames and tweens.
- Know how to create scenes to decompose a larger animation into smaller parts.
