“As an events organiser, I coordinate and plan various events. This involves managing schedules, communicating with clients and vendors using a variety of online communication tools, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. My goal is to create memorable experiences while handling all the logistics behind the scenes.”
Key Question
All the activities in this unit enable students to answer the key question:
How do we communicate safely, respectfully, and effectively using digital tools while understanding the technologies that make online communication possible?
Knowledge statements
This is achieved by students studying 4 “Learn-it” lessons, each of which focus on one knowledge statement:
- Know the technologies used for digital communication and their intended purpose.
- E.g. SMS, instant messaging, email, X, Instagram etc.
- Know how to use and manage email.
- E.g. to, cc, bcc & attaching files.
- Know the principles of effective and appropriate communication in digital environments, including digital etiquette.
- E.g. recognise and prevent flaming.
- Know how to participate in online discussions constructively and respectfully.
- E.g. only communicating what you would be happy for your parents/guardians to see.

- 4 “Learn-it” lessons with a teacher PowerPoint and student workbook.
- 1 “Make-it” lesson with assessment materials for teachers and students.

- Any additional resources and materials needed for the activities are provided in the lesson folders.
- 6 detailed lesson plans explaining how to teach the 3 lesson phases.
- Extension activities with model answers.
- 3 independent homework question sheets supported by 3 online videos hosted on Tella.
